Route 66 Auctions was born from the passion and many years of experience of Ernest Praag, founder and owner of E&R Classics. E&R Classics is one of the largest classic car dealers in Europe and has, over the past years, supplied nearly 10,000 classic cars to satisfied customers worldwide. In 2008, I started E&R Classics. In the eighteen years that followed, we built up a large international customer base and had the pleasure of serving countless enthusiasts. During that time, we were regularly asked whether we could also organise online classic car auctions — a way of buying that adds excitement and enjoyment to the process for many people.
The inspiration for Route 66 Auctions arose in the summer of 2018, during a drive with my wife in our 1963 Jaguar E-Type along the beautiful Belgian N66 from Stavelot to Huy. With our customers’ wishes in mind, the foundation for Route 66 Auctions BV was laid there. The name is a tribute to this special Belgian route.
