Description

– Wire wheels with whitewall tyres, recently fitted according to the seller
– Wood-rimmed steering wheel and period-style radio unit
– French registration

The private seller offers for sale this 1969 MG MGC GT, powered by a 2.9-litre straight-six engine, paired with a manual transmission. The MGC GT was introduced in 1967 as a more powerful sibling of the MGB GT, with a smooth, torquey six-cylinder engine in place of the four, and the Pininfarina-styled fastback body that remains one of the most elegant British grand tourers of the 1960s. The MGC was given a raised bonnet bulge to clear its larger engine, a new front suspension and a more relaxed, long-legged character, and it was built for only a short time, from 1967 to 1969, which makes it a rarer car than its MGB sibling.

This example is finished in red with a black interior with red piping, a wood-rimmed steering wheel and wire wheels fitted with whitewall tyres. The seller states that the tyres are recent and that the car was purchased at auction in November. The photographs show the tailgate with its MGC GT badge, the instruments with speedometer and rev counter, the central gear lever and the cabin from the driver’s door. It is offered with a French registration by a private seller.

The MGC GT combines British grand touring comfort with the sound and torque of a six-cylinder engine, and is a sought-after choice for collectors who appreciate rarity and understated style.
