The private seller offers for sale this 1960 Porsche 356 B Super 90, powered by a 1.6-litre air-cooled flat-four engine, paired with a 4-speed manual transmission. The 356 was the car on which the Porsche name was built, and the 356 B Super 90 is among its most desirable forms, combining the model’s compact, perfectly proportioned coupe body with the most powerful of the 1600 engines.

The 356 B was introduced in 1959 with higher bumpers, larger headlights and a more refined interior. In the Super 90 version, the 1600 cc engine develops 90 hp thanks to its twin Solex carburettors and a higher compression ratio, which gave the coupe lively performance and made it a favourite for both road and sport use. The all-synchromesh four-speed gearbox, the drum brakes with finned drums and the light, rear-engined layout give a driving experience that is still very much admired by Porsche enthusiasts today.

According to the seller, this example is all original, including the radio, and retains its original sunroof. The engine has been fitted with new cylinders and pistons. The car is finished in red with a grey interior, and the photographs show the Reutter coachbuilder plate, the Super 90 lettering, the chrome details, the three-spoke steering wheel and the instruments. The seller also reports that the car was published in the Italian magazine Tutto Porsche, and photographs of the magazine feature are included in the photo set.

Early 356 coupes remain among the most sought-after Porsches, and this red Super 90 with its sunroof offers a chance to acquire a car of this type.
