The seller offers for sale this 1948 Chevrolet 3100, powered by a 5.7-litre V8 engine, paired with an automatic transmission. This Advance Design pickup has been comprehensively modified under the restomod and hot rod philosophy, combining mid-century American styling with the mechanicals of a 1980 Chevrolet Corvette donor. According to the seller, the V8 block has been rebored .060 over and is fed by a large Edelbrock carburettor with a matching polished triangular air filter and custom valve covers. The engine bay has been fully smoothed, with the firewall and inner wings painted in the premium silver of the bodywork, hidden wiring and braided steel fuel lines. The two-speed automatic transmission is set up with short gearing and drives a heavy-duty solid rear axle. The front suspension is an independent setup derived from the Corvette donor, and the front brakes feature four-piston Corvette calipers. The truck rides on classic Chevrolet Rally-style aluminium wheels with chromed dog dish hubcaps and modern low-profile tyres.

The hand-crafted bodywork forms the heart of this build. The roof has been chopped and joined using traditional brass rod welding, while the front wings were modified by hand to integrate Buick headlight bezels and trim, finished without visible seams. Modern LED projector headlights with halo rings have been fitted, the bonnet has been fully smoothed with emblems and trim removed, and the rear bumper has been replaced by a clean roll pan framing a tailgate with stamped CHEVROLET lettering and minimalist teardrop lights. The two-tone finish combines a premium silver with a deep metallic grey on the cab roof and bonnet centre, divided by a hand-painted yellow pinstripe. The load bed features a hardwood floor finished in high-gloss marine varnish, separated by polished stainless steel strips. Inside, the cabin has been trimmed with mustard yellow leather bucket seats with contrasting black piping, matching door panels with stainless steel trim, a smoothed dashboard housing AutoMeter Phantom gauges, a polished three-spoke steering wheel with a wooden rim matching the bed, and polished aluminium pedals over black carpet with acoustic insulation.

The Chevrolet Advance Design series, built from 1947 until 1955, marked Chevrolet’s first all-new post-war truck design and became one of the best-selling trucks of its era. Its rounded cab, integrated headlights and five-bar horizontal grille have made it one of the most recognisable and beloved American pickup designs, and today it is among the most popular bases for high-end custom builds. This example, with its combination of traditional coachbuilding techniques and modern Corvette-derived engineering, represents a distinctive piece of Kustom Kulture craftsmanship. The vehicle is available for inspection at the premises of an American car import specialist in Spain.
