The seller offers for sale this 1986 Opel Senator, powered by a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine, paired with an automatic transmission. Finished in champagne metallic over a dark cloth interior, this car is a late example of the facelifted Senator A2, the final iteration of the first-generation Senator. The odometer reads 73,500 km and the car presents well throughout. It is accompanied by an extensive history file, comprising the original registration document, a stamped service booklet, a folder of invoices, the original owner’s manuals and two keys.

The Senator was Opel’s flagship executive saloon, introduced in 1978 as the four-door counterpart to the Monza coupé and positioned above the Rekord and Commodore in the range. It was built around Opel’s smooth CIH straight-six engines and rear-wheel drive, offering relaxed long-distance cruising that placed it in direct competition with the Mercedes-Benz and BMW saloons of the era. A comprehensive facelift in 1982 produced the A2, with revised styling and updated engines, and the A-series remained in production until 1986, when it was succeeded by the second-generation Senator B.

In this car the CIH six is matched to an automatic gearbox, a combination well suited to the model’s character as a comfortable motorway cruiser. The dark cloth seats, period dashboard and instrumentation are typical of the well-equipped Senator, and the accompanying documentation gives a clear picture of the car’s history.
