Description

MG MGB Limited Edition | 1980

Highlights:

– 1800cc 4-cylinder engine with manual gearbox
– Limited Edition
– Black soft top
– 5-spoke Limited Edition wheels

The MG MGB is undoubtedly one of the most beloved British sports cars ever built. Since its introduction in 1962, the MGB grew to become the world’s best-selling sports car, with over 512,000 units produced in eighteen years. The 1979–1980 Limited Edition is the absolute culmination of that production history: a special edition with which British Leyland bid farewell to the factory in Abingdon. Under the hood beats the reliable 1,800cc four-cylinder B-Series engine, coupled with a manual gearbox — a combination that gave the MGB its characteristic, direct driving experience. This car is in good driving condition and shows here and there the honest signs of use befitting a car that has lived its life.

In terms of exterior, this MGB Limited Edition leaves no doubt: the jet-black paint exudes timeless elegance, enhanced by the iconic silver-grey Limited Edition trim stripes featuring the recognizable MGB Union Jack logo along the flanks. The original 5-spoke LE wheels with their distinctive spiderweb pattern and central MG emblem complete the picture. The chrome luggage rack on the rear adds an adventurous touch to the car. The black soft top matches the paintwork and creates a sleek, sporty silhouette. Inside, everything is consistently black: the textured seat upholstery, the dashboard with its instrument panel, and the floor carpeting form a dark and atmospheric whole that harmonizes perfectly with the exterior. The MG steering wheel and the wooden gear shift knob add a touch of classic British charm to this time capsule interior.
